TRIAD
Specialized programs promoting safety for older adults.
TRIAD is a nationwide initiative that teams up local law enforcement with
social service agencies to offer specialized safety programs for older adults.
It’s all about keeping our senior community informed, supported, and safe.
In Allen County, TRIAD is powered by key community partners including the
Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, New Haven
Police Department, Indiana State Police, Fort Wayne-Allen County Health
Department, Fort Wayne Fire Department, TRAA Ambulance Services, and Aging
& In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS). Together, they provide a
variety of programs tailored to the needs of older adults, from safety
workshops to emergency preparedness.
With TRIAD, the goal is to ensure older adults have access to the
resources and information they need to live confidently and securely. It’s all
about community collaboration to keep seniors safe and empowered.

What are the safety programs that TRIAD offers?
SAFENET Identification Program: The SAFENET program is a lifesaver for caregivers of individuals with memory impairments. This program provides identification and registration services for those who may wander without warning, such as individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. With SAFENET, emergency responders can quickly and accurately identify and assist those who are at risk of wandering, offering peace of mind to caregivers and families.
Safe at Home: The Safe at Home program is designed to assist residents who may need extra support in case of an emergency. This confidential Emergency Registration System allows residents with medical or physical disabilities, or those who may have difficulty hearing or moving, to register important information. When emergency personnel are aware of the individual’s specific needs, they can respond more effectively, ensuring timely and appropriate assistance during a crisis.
